Morocco’s Minister of Culture, Mohammed Mehdi Bensaid, met with the Minister of Culture of Jordan, Haifa Najjar, on Wednesday in Amman to discuss potential avenues for enhancing cultural collaboration between the two countries.
The meeting, held at the Al Hussein Cultural Center, highlighted the long-standing historical ties and ongoing partnership between Morocco and Jordan, under the guidance of King Mohammed VI of Morocco and King Abdullah II of Jordan.
The discussions focused on “the robust and enduring relationship between the two nations,” as well as the shared commitment to strengthening cultural ties, noted Morocco’s Culture Ministry in official statement posted on X.
The two ministers recognized the role of cultural and creative industries in economic growth and explored opportunities to expand partnerships, share expertise, and enhance collaboration with regional and international cultural institutions. They also discussed strategies to improve their mutual presence at cultural festivals and events in both Morocco and Jordan.
The talks led to an agreement to finalize the last phases of the bilateral executive program in the cultural sector, as it is now nearing completion.
