Morocco’s national team is eager and prepared for “notable outcomes” at the 17th Paralympic Games that open this week on August 28 in Paris, Said Mrini, Technical Director of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sports for People with Disabilities (FRMSPSH) told Morocco’s News Agency (MAP).
The Moroccan delegation arrived at the Olympic Village last Wednesday. Mrini stated that the athletes are currently settling in and finalizing preparations for the scheduled competitions, which are scheduled to commence on Thursday.
The medical staff accompanying Morocco’s delegation has also begun its work within the Olympic Village, with a designated space allocated for regular athlete examinations, health monitoring, and the supervision of nutritional programs.
Mrini also commended the efforts of the administrative committees supporting the delegation, particularly their coordination with the Paralympic Games organizing committee to address the logistical needs of the athletes.
The preparation for this major global event has been conducted optimally, both within Morocco and abroad, the technical director stated.
“This success can be attributed to the support and resources provided by the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports to the sports federations, enabling them to prepare their athletes under optimal conditions,” he told MAP.
Morocco’s delegation includes 38 athletes, 24 men and 14 women, competing in various disciplines such as athletics for motor and visual impairments, wheelchair tennis, para powerlifting, para taekwondo, para road cycling, and goalball.
