Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), hosted a special reception for the national futsal team at the Mohammed VI Football Complex on Wednesday, according to a statement from FRMF.
The event was held to honor the team’s achievements as they prepare for the upcoming World Cup in Uzbekistan.
During the reception, Lekjaa praised the squad for their outstanding performance. The team won their third consecutive Africa Cup of Nations title, which secured their place in the World Cup finals scheduled from September 14 to October 6, 2024.
Lekjaa encouraged the players to maintain their high standards and represent Moroccan football with pride on the international stage. The team is preparing for its fourth World Cup appearance, following participation in Thailand in 2012, Colombia in 2016, and Lithuania in 2020.
Recalling the historic significance of competing in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Lekjaa reaffirmed the FRMF’s commitment to providing all necessary support and resources to ensure the team’s success.
The Moroccan futsal team will compete in Group E against Portugal, Panama, and Tajikistan.
