Chinese car brands OMODA and JAECOO have announced their Moroccan launch portfolio aimed at young, progressive clients, with a lineup that includes three different car models that are slated to be launched in Casablanca on September 12.
The design of the Moroccan autos is expected to be practical, technologically advanced, and “refined,” automotive specialist outlet Wandaloo said on Monday.
The models to be rolled out on September 12 include the new OMODA 3, OMODA 5, and JAECOO 7. Initially, only gasoline versions will be available, to be followed by the all-electric OMODA E5.
The JAECOO 7, a compact SUV designed for both urban and off-road use, is built to perform smoothly on both pavement and rough terrain. Visually, it stands out with a sophisticated look and sharp lines. Inside, the vehicle offers premium comfort and high technology, according to the brand.
At launch, the JAECOO 7 will be available in both two-wheel and four-wheel-drive versions, equipped with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine delivering 194 horsepower, paired with a Getrag 7-speed dual-clutch robotic transmission.
Plug-in hybrid and all-electric versions will be added to the lineup later.
Vice General Manager of the OMODA’s Africa region Deniz stated to Moroccan outlet in October that the company’s managers are keenly interested in the Moroccan market because of its commercial dynamism and the strong demand for new-generation cars.
OMODA intends to appeal to Moroccan consumers by offering creative, highly electronic, and synchronized models that are in line with current trends.
OMODA operates in more than 80 countries, including Brazil, Russia, Spain, and Italy. OMODA intends to grow into Egypt, Tunisia, and Algeria in North Africa, with Morocco playing an important role in this strategy.
The Chinese company has ten manufacturing platforms and five R&D facilities throughout the world, including one in Russia, one in China, and one in Central Europe.
