Palestinian organization Al Bustan Association Silwan’s integrated educational and recreational summer school program in Al Quds (the Arabic name for Jerusalem) combines educational and recreational activities to foster team-building and personal development in children, Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) reported, on Monday.
Funded by Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, (BMAQ), the program commenced with a series of activities conducted in a forest near Al-Quds. The program featured competitive sports events in martial arts and kickboxing, supervised by coaches from the Palestinian national team and international champions.
Altogether, the program encompasses 150 workshops spanning art, theater, and cognitive games, to cultivate competencies and nurture creativity.
The initiative also promotes values such as integrity, perseverance, and respect for family, tradition, and local identity.
The project, which continues until the end of August, is supporting 4,000 children from Al-Quds and surrounding villages. Organized by the Children’s Club for Al-Quds and funded by the Moroccan Cultural Center Association, it provides a supportive environment for children aged 6 to 14 from 17 institutions to develop their skills and grow personally.
The Al Bustan Association Silwan is a non-profit association established in 2012 by a group of volunteers in Silwan village. It has three main areas of focus: nurturing youth leaders, offering cultural programs, and empowering residents to resist settler violence.
BMAQ is a quasi-governmental institution focused on humanitarian and social issues in Al-Qud. Established in 1998 under the presidency of King Mohammed VI, BMAQ operates under the Al-Quds Committee to safeguard the holy city of Al-Quds, preserving its religious and cultural heritage, and providing support to its inhabitants.
