Moroccan Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid met with Palestinian Minister of Culture Emad Hamdan in Rabat today. This meeting is part of ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral relations between tahe two nations.
During their discussions, the ministers highlighted the long-standing historical ties between Morocco and Palestine.
They emphasized King Mohammed VI’s commitment to the Palestinian cause, noting his role as chair of the Al-Quds Committee and his recent address regarding Gaza during his Throne Day speech, which underscores his personal dedication to the Palestinian issue.
Bensaid reaffirmed Morocco’s strong support for Palestine, recalling the country’s commitment to a two-state solution as a means to achieve a just and lasting peace in the Middle East. He also noted that the recent Throne Day speech by King Mohammed VI reflected the king’s ongoing engagement with Palestinian concerns.
The talks also focused on bolstering cultural cooperation between Morocco and Palestine. The ministers explored various initiatives aimed at advancing cultural industries, including new programs and agreements. They discussed plans to digitize books and manuscripts and to share Morocco’s expertise in these areas.
Hamdan expressed gratitude to King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan people for their unwavering support of Palestine. He praised the Al-Quds Committee’s executive arm, Bayt Mal al-Quds Agency, for its impactful projects that benefit the people of Jerusalem and Palestinians more broadly.
The meeting also provided a platform for discussing the exchange of expertise and cultural experiences, aiming to foster a deeper understanding between Moroccan and Palestinian communities.
Both sides agreed on the need to update their cultural cooperation programs and strengthen collaboration within regional and international institutions.
