Walid Regragui, head coach of Morocco’s national football team, will announce his squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers in a press conference on Thursday.
The announcement will provide details on the lineup for Morocco’s matches against Gabon and Lesotho.
The press conference will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Sale, as confirmed by the Moroccan Royal Football Federation (FRMF).
Regragui’s squad reveal comes ahead of Morocco’s fixtures against the Gabonese Leopards on September 6 and the Lesotho Crocodiles on September 9.
Both matches will kick off at 7:00 p.m. at the Grand Stadium of Agadir and are crucial for the qualifiers leading up to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Although Morocco is guaranteed a place in the tournament as the host nation, scheduled from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, these qualifiers remain important for team preparation. This edition of the Africa Cup of Nations will be the first to extend into two years.
The upcoming matches are also critical for boosting fan morale following the team’s disappointing early exit from the 2024 CAN, they were eliminated in the Round of 16 after a 2-0 defeat to South Africa.
