Morocco’s National Police (DGSN) in Casablanca, in collaboration with the Territorial Surveillance Agency (DGST), arrested an individual on Thursday for suspected involvement in drug trafficking.
The suspect was caught red-handed dealing illegal substances on the streets of Casablanca.
Following his arrest, police executed a search warrant at his residence, where they seized 161 grams of cocaine and 1,738 packages of “boufa,” also known as “poor people’s drug,” totaling 1.55 kilograms.
Boufa is a new low-cost drug derived from cocaine.
The authorities also confiscated a large bladed weapon and two vehicles, one of which had counterfeit license plates.
The identity checks revealed that the suspect is subject to active national arrest warrants in connection with similar cases.
The suspect is now in custody pending further investigation under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, which is looking at who may also be connected to these criminal activities, considering potential regional and global links.
