Head of Morocco’s Forecasts and Statistics Office (HCP) Ahmed Lahlimi Alami inaugurated a new headquarters on Thursday in Dakhla, in Southern Morocco. The budget of the headquarters amounted to approximately 3 million MAD.
The new headquarters includes meeting rooms, a conference hall, an archive room, and a technical room. It is equipped with technical equipment, interactive screens, and servers.
The new facility will conduct statistical research, prepare statistical bulletins and regional and provincial monographs, as well as perform economic, social, and demographic studies.
It will also contribute to the development of regional, provincial, local, and sectoral development programs.
HCP’s headquarters will monitor the region’s economic situation, including labor market trends, inflation, and prices, ensuring thorough analysis and interpretation.
Cheikh Mohamed Maoulainine, the Regional Director of the HCP told MAP that “the opening of this new facility is part of the modernization efforts for HCP’s tools and aligns with the institution’s overall digitalization of statistical data production.”
Maoulainine also noted that a “regional data center has been established, linked to the HCP’s national data center, to house and safeguard regional databases.”
Ali Khalil, the Wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region and governor of Oued Eddahab province, El Khattat Yanja, the president of the Regional Council, as well as local officials, attended the inauguration ceremony.
