The Moroccan Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs announced on Friday that the payment period for the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage in 2025 will be open from September 2 to September 20, 2024.
In a statement, the ministry says that pilgrims can deposit the payments at Barid Bank agencies across the country.
According to the Ministry’s statement, the fee for the Hajj this year is approximately MAD 65,000 (about USD 6,400). The amount may be adjusted closer to the departure date. Payment can be made using certified checks.
The payment process applies to Moroccan citizens who were selected via the official lottery system to participate in this year’s pilgrimage.
Those selected for the pilgrimage intake are required to visit a Barid Bank branch in person with their national ID card and selection certificate to complete the payment.
The ministry urges all selected pilgrims to adhere to the payment deadline to secure their place for the Hajj season of 1446 Hijri year which corresponds to 2025 in the Gregorian calendar.
