Morocco’s Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan welcomed a group of Palestinian children from Al-Quds at the Royal Palace in Tetouan on Friday. The children are participants in the 15th summer camps organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency.
The special event took place under the directive of King Mohammed VI, who serves as the President of the Al-Quds Committee. The King’s initiative is part of his continuous support for the Holy City of Jerusalem and its residents, particularly amid the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.
Dubbed the “Yacoub Al-Mansour Almohade,” the summer camp runs from August 9- 26 and welcomes 50 Palestinian children between the ages of 11 and 14 in addition to five adult supervisors.
The program aims to provide the children, who are from various neighborhoods in Jerusalem, with educational and recreational activities, including cultural visits with Moroccan peers.
During the event, the children presented Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan with a souvenir gift as a token of their appreciation. The Crown Prince later posed for a group photo with the children and their supervisors.
Following the reception, the children attended a banquet held in their honor, hosted by King Mohammed VI and presided over by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan.
Since its inception in 2008, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency’s summer camp program has welcomed 750 children from Jerusalem, and 75 supervisors. The children have visited various regions of Morocco.
In addition to the summer camp in Morocco, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency launched a “Summer Schools” program in early August in Jerusalem. The initiative supports 4,000 children across 17 schools and clubs in different neighborhoods and villages.
