On the occasion of Youth Day this year, Morocco’s King Mohammed VI pardoned 708 individuals sentenced by various Moroccan courts, the Ministry of Justice announced in a press release.
The beneficiaries of the Royal Pardon currently in detention numbered 474 prisoners and are divided as follows:
– 28 inmates benefited from a pardon over the remaining prison term.
– 442 had their prison terms reduced.
– 4 inmates had their life sentences commuted to fixed-term sentences.
The beneficiaries of the Royal Pardon currently at liberty numbered 234 people and are divided as follows:
– 31 people benefited from a pardon over their prison terms or its remainder.
– 11 people had their prison sentences reduced while their fines were maintained.
– 183 individuals had their fines annulled.
– 9 individuals had both their prison terms and fines annulled.
