Morocco’s AS FAR lost 2-1 to Nigerian club Remo Stars in the Champions League preliminary round first leg in Ikenne on Sunday.
Remo Stars took the lead in the 19th minute when right-back Sodiq Ismail’s cross was nodded in by captain Junior Nduka.
AS FAR equalized four minutes after the break, but Remo Stars regained the lead in the 63rd minute through a header by Ismail.
AS FAR will host the reverse fixture next week in Morocco to overturn the deficit.
In the same competition, Moroccan club Raja Casablanca secured a 2-1 victory over Nigerian club ASGNN in Niamey on Saturday, with the second leg set for August 24.
While Raja and AS Far are comepting at the African Chamiopns League, Union Touarga and RS Berkane are in the CAF Confederation Cup.
