Morocco’s club Raja Casablanca started their African Champions League campaign with a 2-1 win on Saturday against the Association Sportive de la Garde Nationale Nigérienne (ASGNN) at the Stade Général Seyni Kountché in Niamey.
Raja’s Sabir Bougrine scored the first goal in the 20th minute, and Marouane Zila added a second goal in the 66th minute. ASGNN managed to score once, but Raja held on for the win.
The teams will face off again in the second leg on Saturday, August 24, at 8 p.m. (GMT+1).
Moroccan teams are also competing in continental tournaments this month including AS FAR is in the Champions League, while Union Touarga and RS Berkane are in the CAF Confederation Cup.
