Judicial police officers in Fez arrested a French citizen of Algerian descent on Friday, who was subject of an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities for involvement in international drug trafficking.
The National Police (DGSN) reported that the man is “accused of being connected to a criminal network active in the trafficking of international drugs and psychotropic substances.”
The suspect was remanded into police custody pending further investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office.
The Interpol Bureau in Morocco has informed the relevant French authorities of the French national’s detention to initiate extradition procedures.
