Morocco’s women’s football team, Atlas Lionesses, secured the 59th spot in the FIFA rankings with a score of 1426.09 points, according to FIFA’s latest update released on Friday.
Despite their absence from the recent Paris Olympic tournament, which was factored into the FIFA rankings, the team remains in the top three on the African continent.
The Atlas Lionesses remain in third place on the continent, behind South Africa (50th) and Nigeria (36th).
In the global rankings, the United States reclaimed the top spot, climbing four positions following their victory at the Paris Olympics.
England moved up one place to land second spot, while Spain dropped to third. The next FIFA women’s rankings will be published on December 20.
