The Moroccan international player, Ilias Akhomach, secured a position on Villarreal’s first team for the 2024-2025 season, according to the club’s announcement on Thursday.
Akhomach, who was born on April 16, 2004, in Catalonia, transferred from FC Barcelona B to Villarreal’s reserve team last year, where he made 31 appearances.
Villarreal published the list of its senior squad players for the upcoming season, featuring the name of the Moroccan prodigy as a forward “after his leading role last season.”
“Illias is a talented Spanish-Moroccan footballer who, despite his young age, is known for his skill in the attacking midfield position. He has great potential in both national and international football,” Villareal wrote in the player’s biography.
The professional athlete has recently resumed training with his team following a bronze medal victory at the Paris Olympic Games with Morocco’s U23 national team in the men’s football competition.
