Four suspects have been arrested after a knife attack on Mounir Nasraoui, father of FC Barcelona player Lamine Yamal, on Wednesday night in a parking lot in the Rocafonda neighborhood of Mataró, approximately 30 kilometers from Barcelona.
Catalonia’s police authorities confirmed the detention of three individuals suspected of involvement in the incident at 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, with a fourth person apprehended at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The identities of the suspects have not been disclosed.
Investigators are set to interview the victim and witnesses to ascertain the circumstances of the attack.
Nasraoui, who sustained multiple stab injuries, remains in stable condition at Badalona Hospital, according to a source close to the family, AFP reported.
He has expressed gratitude for the support received via Instagram, stating that he is recovering well.
The incident, which occurred while Nasraoui was walking his dog, allegedly stemmed from an argument with men who had approached him. The Spanish journal La Vanguardia reported that these individuals returned later and attacked him.
