Authorities in Casablanca initiated measures yesterday to reduce water flow and temporarily suspend the potable water supply in certain areas over the next few days due to scheduled maintenance work on the main pipeline serving these areas.
According to the Independent Agency for Water and Electricity Distribution in Chouia, central Morocco, water pressure may drop to the point of a complete outage starting Thursday evening in Settat, Had Soualem, and Sidi Rahal.
Residents in Droua and Ouled Aboo have received notices from the Chouia agency, informing them of daily water supply interruptions from midnight to 6 a.m., according to local media.
The agency said that “it will take all necessary steps to continue providing residents with this vital resource until the maintenance is completed.” It also urged locals to conserve water in their daily activities as much as possible.
The agency may be contacted at (+212) 523-40-31-37/ (+212) 802-08-88-88 for more information or inquiries.
