A total of 370 children from Taroudant’s province, who endured the September 8 earthquake, are currently attending an educational vacation camp in Agadir, according to a statement by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication.
The initiative strives to provide support for these children following royal directives prioritizing their social, psychological, and educational well-being.
The camp provides a comprehensive program of artistic and cultural workshops, along with counseling sessions, to assist the children in overcoming the psychological aftermath of the earthquake and facilitating their transition to a more normal life.
Hicham Zelouach, Regional Director of Youth in Souss Massa, located in the southwest, detailed the initiative’s dual objective of providing psychological and educational support to assist children in coping with the disaster’s aftermath.
In October 2023, organizers held a similar training camp for 250 children from Taroudant at the Aglou center in the Tiznit province.
The Regional Directorate of Youth, Culture, and Communication in Souss-Massa and the National Federation of Vacation Camps jointly held the program.
