The Moroccan Under-19 (U19) girls’ beach volleyball team has qualified for the 2024 FIVB World Championship, that begins August 27 in Shangluo, China, the Royal Moroccan Volleyball Federation (FRVMB) said.
The team earned its spot in the World Championships by winning the silver medal at the African Beach Volleyball Championship recently held in Martil, Morocco.
The duo of Aida Lamzaouak and Imane Fakhr came close to clinching the gold, losing to Nigeria’s Bawa Pamela Miyom and Mbah Esther Onyinye.
The FRVMB also announced that the national U20 boys’ indoor volleyball team has qualified for the 2025 World Championship after winning the bronze medal at the African Championship in Tunisia, which concluded on August 12.
The U18 boy’s arnational team is scheduled to compete in the African Volleyball Championship on August 22 in Tunis, which will serve as a qualifier for the 2025 U18 World Championship.
The FRVMB highlighted the importance of preparing future volleyball prospects in Morocco, both for African continent and international competitions.
