Morocco’s overall reservoir filling rate is currently at 27.87%, representing a total volume of more than 4,2 million cubic meters, according to the latest figures from the General Directorate of Water Engineering, a division under the Ministry of Equipment and Water.
The largest reservoir, the Oued El Abid Dam in the Middle Atlas region, is approximately 51% full. In contrast, the Al Massira Dam in Settat province, the second largest, has a filling rate of only 1.3%.
In terms of basins, the Loukos Basin in northern Morocco leads with a filling rate of 55%, followed by the Sebou Basin in the Middle Atlas mountains at around 45%, and the centrally-located Tensift Basin at just over 44%.
