Sofascore, an application for following sports statistics, selected three Moroccan players Achraf Hakimi, Soufiane Rahimi, and Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, among the team of the week at the Paris Olympics.
The app rated the Atlas Cubs Captain Hakimi with 7.85 points, while Rahimi got 7.80 points, and Ezz (Ezzalzouli’s nickname) had 7.40 points.
Rahimi won the top scorer award at the Paris 2024 Men’s Olympic Football Tournament, as well as UAE Pro League Player of the Season for 2023-2024.
The strikers under the team of the week were French Michel Olise, who got the best scoring point of 8.37, Rahimi, and Egyptian player Ibrahim Abdel with 7.43 points.
The best midfielders of the team were respectively, Hakimi, and Spanish Fermín López with 8.02 points, beside his mate Alejandro Baena who had 7.34 points, in addition to Morocco’s Ezz.
As for the defenders, Sofascore chose Egypt’s Omar Fayed giving him 7.44 points, and French player Loic Bade with his teammate Castello Lukeba with 7.35 points.
The goalkeeper of the week went to Egypt’s Hamza Alaa with 7.20.
The Men’s Football podium for U23’s at the Olympics featured Spain, the winner of the competition and gold holder, France -the runner-up, and Morocco with its bronze after crushing Egypt 6-0.
