Morocco’s Railway Office (ONCF) has announced an open call for tenders to conduct preliminary studies for a project to connect Oued Zem and Beni Mellal to the national rail network.
The studies include the expansion and repair of the rail line between Khouribga and Oued Zem and the technical work necessary for level crossings between Sidi Ayadi and Oued Zem.
The tender document said that the cost of these preliminary studies amounted to approximately MAD 38 million. The bidding is scheduled to be opened on September 19 in Rabat.
The project is a major initiative for the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region, and is expected to bring substantial economic and social benefits to the area and its inhabitants. It will also play a vital role in shortening travel times between the region and the cities of Casablanca and Rabat.
