Air France, along with its subsidiary Transavia and the German airline Lufthansa, have announced the extension of their flight suspensions to the Middle East due to ongoing security concerns.
Air France and Transavia plan to retain their suspension of flights to Beirut until August 14, while Lufthansa has extended its suspension of all flights to the region until August 21.
The flight suspensions, which took effect on July 29, follow the deteriorating security situation in Lebanon.
Air France canceled all flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Beirut, as well as all Transavia France services to and from Lebanon. It announced that it will reassess the situation before resuming flights, prioritizing the safety of passengers and crew.
Lufthansa is also extending its suspension of flights to Tel Aviv, Tehran, Beirut, Amman, and Erbil, and will continue to abstain from flying over Iranian and Iraqi airspace, until August 21.
Air France offers customers flexibility in rescheduling or canceling flights to or from Beirut scheduled before August 18 without additional fees.
