Morocco’s Royal Navy units rescued 68 irregular migrants on Sunday, including two deceased, from a boat 16 kilometers southwest of Dakhla.
The migrants, all from Sub-Saharan Africa, had departed on August 5 to reach the Canary Islands.
The Royal Navy patrol provided first aid on-site before transporting the survivors to Dakhla port.
They were handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for further processing. The Civil Protection transported the deceased to the morgue at Hassan II Hospital in Dakhla.
