The Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency (BMAQ) held a workshop in Tangier on Saturday to discuss risk management strategies for the Internet and social networks, benefiting Maqdissi children participating in the 15th edition of the summer school program.
The workshop offered a forum for interaction between child participants and experts from the Digital Development Agency (ADD), responsible for leading the workshop.
The event featured a presentation on the potential risks associated with excessive social media and internet use, along with interactive exercises facilitated by ADD-provided applications on a dedicated website for parents, educators, and other relevant parties.
The camp’s activities include educational tours to Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Tetouan, and Chefchaouen. Competitions, leisure activities, and meetings with Moroccan children at their Tangier’s Diplomatic Forest summer camps are also on the agenda.
The 2024 summer school program brought together almost 4,000 Maqdessi children, The program offers sessions on psychological support, danger awareness, and learning through simulated first-aid exercises and rescue operations, overseen by professional trainers.
The camp program in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region includes a visit to sites of cultural and historical significance in the city of Tangier. Sites include the Villa Harris Museum, Perdicaris Park, Cap Spartel, and the Hercules Caves.
The tour will proceed with a walk along the Tangier Corniche, followed by a tour of the Tangier Medina, visits to the Kasbah, the Ibn Battouta Memory Exhibition, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Dar El-Baroud Tower, and the Dar Debbagh Hotel.
The program also includes a futsal tournament, organized by the Regional Youth Directorate and the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports Provincial Directorate.
Running until August 25, the schedule of events extends to a tour of the city of Chefchaouen, a storytelling session, a visit to the town of Fnideq, theoretical golf courses, a visit to the historical and tourist sites of Tetouan, as well as theoretical and practical sessions of sailing at M’diq.
BMAQ is a quasi-governmental institution that is focused on humanitarian and social issues in Al Quds (the Arabic name of Jerusalem). Established in 1998 under the presidency of King Mohammed VI, BMAQ operates under the Al-Quds Committee to safeguard the holy city of Al-Quds, preserving its religious and cultural heritage, and providing support to its inhabitants.
