Rapper Travis Scott was arrested at a Paris hotel after an altercation with a security guard, Associated Press (AP) said on Friday.
The incident took place early Friday at the Georges V hotel in Paris, where police responded to a call to arrest a man identified as “Travis Scott” in connection with an alleged act of violence against a security guard.
The altercation reportedly began between the rapper and his own bodyguard, prompting the hotel security guard to intervene. The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Scott, whose real name is Jacques Webster, was in Paris for the Olympic Games. He attended the men’s basketball semifinal on Thursday night, where the U.S. team rallied to victory over Serbia.
The famous rapper has previously been involved with law enforcement for disorderly conduct. In June, he was arrested in Miami for trespassing on property and disorderly intoxication, after being involved in “a disturbance on a yacht”. The rapper’s lawyer later claimed that the situation was a “misunderstanding”.
In 2023, Scott was accused of attacking a nightclub worker in New York City and reportedly settled with the club later.
He has yet to comment on the arrest.
