New car sales in Morocco totaled 96,905 in the first seven months of 2024, representing a 2.08% year-on-year increase, according to the Association of Vehicle Importers in Morocco (AIVAM).
By vehicle segment, new passenger car registrations increased slightly by 0.51%, with 86,749 registrations. In contrast, light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales increased by a significant 18.57% compared to the previous year, with 9,756 units having been sold, according to AVIAM monthly data.
The “Dacia” brand is currently leading the passenger car segment with a 26.04% market share, corresponding to 22,587 new registrations since the beginning of the year.
Renault is in second place with a 15.74% share of the market and 13,417 units having been registered. Hyundai registered 7,048 units, representing an 8.12% market share.
In the LCV market, Renault sold 2334 units, representing 23.92% of overall sales, outperforming its rivals Ford and DFSK, with sales of 1355 units (13.89% market share) and 1106 units (11.34% market share), respectively.
Concerning premium automobiles, Audi recorded a market share of 3.04% with 2,636 units
sold, surpassing BMW (2.85% market share and 2,476 units sold) and Mercedes-Benz (1.98% market share and 1,505 units sold).
July sales figures indicated that 12,701 units were sold in the passenger car segment and 1,518 in the LCV, bringing the total to 14,219 vehicles, an 8.42% surge year-on-year.
