Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita spoke by phone with his British counterpart, newly appointed Foreign Minister David Lammy, for the first time on Monday, according to a statement by Morocco’s Foreign Ministry.
The FMs reviewed the various regional and international issues of common interest and recognized the longstanding historical ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United Kingdom, which share more than 800 years of “fruitful” and “developing” relations.
“The UK’s relationship with Morocco dates back 800 years and goes from strength to strength,” Lammy tweeted on “X” yesterday. “We discussed regional security & prosperity, which is more important than ever.”
