Morocco’s Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation has announced the expansion of competitive entrance exam slots for students seeking admission to accredited universities, according to a press release.
The expansion is designed to support national projects and meet socio-economic needs.
For the 2024 academic year, 56,075 seats have been made available across 83 regulated universities and institutions.
A total of 670,545 applications were received, of which 138,995 met the criteria for selection.
The 13-faculties in the fields of medicine, pharmacy and dentistry offered 4,882 places. A total of 109,698 applications were received, with 49,843 candidates selected and 37,685 having completed the exams.
In Morocco, 13 National Schools of Applied Sciences opened 4,060 spots and received 87,741 applications. Out of those, 30,382 candidates were chosen, and 22,133 took the exams.
A further 12 National Schools of Business and Management provided 4,460 openings, receiving 106,639 applications, of which 41,548 were selected, and 28,810 qualified candidates took the exam.
The three National Schools of Arts and Crafts had 1,030 spots open, and they got 83,047 applications. Out of those, 17,222 were selected, and 9,866 of the candidates went ahead with the entrance exams.
In total, eight Science and Technology institutes had 10,750 available spots, while the 20 Higher Technology schools had 12,800.
There were 18,093 places available across 14 institutions in the Teaching License Program (CLE).
For the preparatory classes, 4,353 positions were available in 44 engineering schools across the country, to which 5,209 applicants responded. Out of those applicants, 5,038 candidates sat the exams.
The 14 management schools in Morocco offered 1,240 seats for students, for which 1,581 applicants applied and only 1,361 candidates were able to take the exams.
The ministry also noted that the national platform for post-baccalaureate student orientation and enrollment, www.cursussup.gov.ma, serves as the exclusive platform for submitting and managing applications.
The admission results were released between July 29 and August 5, while the institutions are scheduling enrollment periods for accepted students from August to early September 2024.
