The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, an arm of the Al-Quds Committee, delivered advanced “Cloud Infrastructures” and an integrated e-learning platform, known as the “Learning Management System,” to Al-Azhar University in Gaza on Monday, during a ceremony in Cairo.
The Moroccan initiative is part of a larger effort to support the Palestinian educational system as it prepares for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year in Gaza, where the education sector has been devastated by Israel’s ongoing onslaught since October 7, 2023.
At the ceremony, attended by Al-Azhar University’s president, faculty representatives, and students currently residing in Egyp,t Moroccan experts and international partners demonstrated the features of the new platform and cloud infrastructure to a number of the university’s software and network engineers in Cairo. The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency also held a training workshop to guide the migration and security of data on the new platform.
The workshop featured remote participation from engineers and software specialists in Gaza, focusing on new technologies for the secure and sustainable operation of servers to ensure data preservation and improve the effectiveness of teaching and examinations.
The university administration expects that more than 18,000 students across 12 schools of the university will benefit from the new platform.
Graduates of special programs will also have the opportunity to continue their studies abroad through academic exchange agreements.
