Spanish football star Dani Olmo is set to return to Barcelona in a €55 million transfer deal from German team Leipzig, according to Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano.
“Olmo agreed on a six-year deal valid until June 2030 and he wanted the Barça move,” Romano wrote on X.
The prospective purchase includes a guaranteed €55 million and an additional €7 million in add-ons, which had been the “main hurdle” in reaching an agreement.
Leipzig initially demanded more than €65 million for the Spanish international, but negotiations are now nearing their conclusion.
This will not be the first time Olmo sports the Catalan team’s jersey. He joined Barcelona’s football academy as a child, rising through the ranks at La Masia, the team’s youth academy.
He left Barça in 2014 and made his professional debut with Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb. As agreements between the two clubs draw to a close, Olmo may soon be heading back to the roots of his football journey, where it all began.
