Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency (BMAQ) has launched its 2024 “Summer Schools” program for over 4,000 children across 17 institutions in Al Quds (the Arabic name for Jerusalem), according to the agency’s press release.
Entitled “For the Promotion of Unity and Solidarity,” the initiative encompasses 150 workshops across art, theater, and games to foster cognitive and physical development of children.
The program seeks to create a secure and welcoming environment, offering psychological support and educational activities as a means of assisting children in navigating the present challenges in Al Quds and Palestine.
The Children’s Club for Al Quds provides financial assistance to educational institutions in underprivileged neighborhoods in Al Quds including transportation costs and the installation of recreational facilities such as swimming pools, bounce houses, electronic games, as well as theater and craft workshops.
This year’s activities feature emergency simulation training under the “FAZAA” project. Qualified professionals will provide children with instruction on fire safety in homes and schools, first aid, and how to report hazards.
There are also special camps focused on the history of displaced villages and camps for architecture students who are engaged in developing facilities in Gaza.
