The 14th Executive Council of the Conference of Ministers of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in the Islamic World convened in Mecca, announced on Saturday that Morocco will host its next session.
The announcement was made at the 9th Executive Council Meeting of Ministers of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, which is set to take place on Sunday. The Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs organized the conference which will bring together ministers, heads of Islamic councils, and scholars from 62 countries, including Morocco’s Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ahmed Toufiq.
Themed “The Role of Ministries of Islamic Affairs and Endowments in Promoting the Principles of Moderation and Consolidating the Values of Moderation,” the 9th Conference will offer a platform for dialogue through ten sessions.
The participants will discuss the renewal of religious discourse as a tool for promoting moderation and balance, combating extremism, terrorism, and hate speech, and fostering shared human values, tolerance, and coexistence. The conference will also address the contributions of the Waqf sector (an investment financing tool) to development and investment.
The attendees will exchange experiences and best practices related to mosque construction and maintenance, the appointment of imams, and preachers, as well as making relevant programs.
The 14th Executive Council meeting also focused on various issues and proposals concerning the theme of the 10th Conference, as well as new challenges facing the Islamic world and recommendations for improving the conference’s operational mechanisms.
The Executive Council of the Conference of Ministers of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in the Islamic World consists of Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Gambia, Kuwait, and Egypt.
