The United States exported $610.17 million worth of agricultural products to Morocco in 2023, marking an average annual growth rate of 3.9% from 2014 to 2023, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)
The U.S. agricultural exports to Morocco totaled $603.43 million in 2022. The value of these exports was $564.34 million in 2021 and $477.06 million in 2020. In 2019, exports amounted to only $298.64 million, down from $586.57 million in 2018.
Soybean meal was the top agricultural product exported from the U.S. to Morocco in 2023, which is primarily used as a protein supplement and source of metabolizable energy in animal feed. The U.S. exported 427,272 tons of soybean meal to Morocco in 2023, valued at $225.40 million.
Nuts constituted the second-largest category of exports, including almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pine nuts, pistachios, and walnuts. Morocco imported 32,381 tons of these nuts in 2023, worth $137.03 million.
USDA data shows that Morocco ranks as the 36th largest agricultural export market for the United States.
Morocco and the United States signed a free trade agreement on June 15, 2004, which took effect on January 1, 2006.
