Morocco’s Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social Solidarity Economy launched the 5th “MOAZARA” program for 2024. This initiative is designed to co-finance projects led by associations, networks of associations and cooperatives in the social solidarity economy.
“This year, the Ministry is collaborating with the Regional Councils of Fes-Meknes, the Eastern region, and, for the first time, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima,” the Ministry stated. “This expanded partnership will support approximately 160 projects across the 12 regions of the Kingdom.”
Each project will receive financial support of up to 49,000 MAD. In addition to this financial aid, project leaders will benefit from personalized support to help develop their initiatives.
The program is expected to help retain around 6,000 jobs and create 3,000 new ones.
The “MOAZARA” program has previously funded 414 projects with an overall investment of 19.2 million MAD, resulting in 13,800 jobs retained and 8,300 new jobs created, benefiting 52,506 people, including 62% women, with 52% of projects carried out in rural areas.
Previous editions have supported various sectors, including handicrafts, tourism, solidarity agriculture, promotion of local products, cultural entrepreneurship, and projects in health, education, environmental preservation, renewable energy, and the enhancement of local natural resources.
The “MOAZARA” program is part of the Ministry’s broader financial and technical support efforts aimed at fostering growth in the social and solidarity economy sector.
Project holders are invited to submit their applications on the dedicated digital platform at https://mtaess.gov.ma/moazara-5/ by August 30, 2024.
