Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani received a Moroccan delegation representing King Mohammed VI in El Ghazouani’s second five-year term investiture ceremony on Thursday in Nouakchout.
The delegation included Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, Morocco’s Ambassador to Nouakchott Hamid Chabar, and other officials.
During the meeting, Akhannouch conveyed King Mohammed VI’s strong commitment to enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
Akhannouch also extended the King’s congratulations to President Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani on his re-election, along with wishes for further progress and development for Mauritania.
Akhannouch told MAP that the Mauritanian President expressed his firm intention to strengthen and expand the fraternal relations between the two countries.
The Head of Government added that El Ghazouani requested him to send his greetings and best wishes for continued prosperity to the monarch.
President Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani was re-elected for a second term as President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania after securing 56.12% of the vote in the presidential election held on June 29.
