Leipzig’s Spanish international star football player, Dani Olmo, may be about to sign an agreement with Barcelona following the decision of the club’s first-choice target, Nico Williams, to stay with Athletic Club until at least 2025, Italian media reported.
Williams had been Barcelona’s first choice after his 2023-2024 campaign and his impressive performance during the 2024 Euro Cup.
Barcelona has now offered 55 million Euros for Olmo, after its initial “insulting” offer of 40 million Euros, including 20 million Euros in variables. Leipzig’s initial demand was more than 65 million Euros.
Although Olmo wants to move to Barça and has agreed to the six-year deal, he is waiting for the two clubs to agree on terms. An immediate transfer appears unlikely, given Barcelona’s ongoing financial difficulties.
The Catalan club is now awaiting Leipzig’s response.
