The first International Military Music Festival, held by Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces (FAR) to commemorate the 25th anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne, concluded on Tuesday evening, at El Machouar Essaid Square in Tetouan.
The festival featured performances by seven national bands representing various branches of Morocco’s armed forces, including the FAR, the Royal Guard, the Royal Gendarmerie, the National Police, and the Auxiliary Forces. Six foreign military bands from Saudi Arabia, Côte d’Ivoire, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, the USA, and Senegal also participated in the event.
The ceremony commenced with a performance by Morocco’s Royal Guard, featuring an infantry brigade, musicians, torchbearers, and a cavalry unit. Subsequent performances included musical performances by the Royal Air Force, the Royal Gendarmerie, and the Royal Navy.
The displays showcased military brigades marching to military music and national songs commemorating significant moments in the Kingdom’s history.
The festival kicked off on Friday at Al Barid Square in Rabat and continued on Monday evening at the M’diq Corniche, before concluding yesterday with fireworks that illuminated Tetouan’s sky with brilliant colors.
High-ranking officials, including General Mohamed Berrid, FAR’s Inspector General and Commander of the Southern Zone; General Mohamed Haramou, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie; and Younes Tazi, Governor of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, and other civil and military dignitaries attended the event.
