Moroccan surfer Ramzi Boukhiam secured his ticket for the third round of the Olympic surfing event, defeating Salvadoran competitor Bryan Perez on the eve of Monday at the Teahupo’o surf spot, in Tahiti.
Boukhiam exhibited a robust performance and excellent control, achieving a score of 14.60 points to surprass Perez’s 12.60.
The Moroccan wave rider will compete against Brazilian surfer João Chianca in the upcoming round.
Morocco is participating in the Summer Olympics, which are running until August 11, with a national team comprising 42 male and 18 female athletes competing across 19 disciplines.
