“BLS,” the intermediary business in charge of receiving applications for entrance visas to Spanish territory, continues to spark frustration among Moroccans in Tangier by failing to react to their applications in a timely and legal manner, resulting in huge economic losses for applicants, the Spanish outlet “La Razon” reported.
Despite adhering to the correct application protocol, many individuals have complained about the delay in response beyond the specified date, which is currently exceeding 60 days.
“This delay is a clear violation of the laws stipulated on the official visa application website, as the specified period for processing applications is not respected,” said the same source quoting local media.
The situation has produced enormous dissatisfaction and fury among applicants, who believe the wait is not only unjust but also results in “significant financial losses.”
Furthermore, the extended wait period incurs additional expenditures when visa candidates have to postpone or cancel their vacation. In addition to substantial losses such as missing out on career or study opportunities in Spain.
Many of those impacted have urged the relevant authorities to release a statement explaining the reasons for the unwarranted delay, as well as to order the intermediate company to expedite the proceedings and meet the legal deadline.
They also emphasized the importance of providing financial compensation to individuals who have been implicated if the situation persists, to compensate for the losses they have endured.
Human rights activists believe that this delay, in the absence of clear explanations or quick solutions, fuels Moroccan discontent and mistrust of the visa-granting mechanism, potentially harming bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Moroccan administration has yet to publish an official comment about the visa delays. However, the mounting public outrage is placing pressure on authorities to act and guarantee that the visa application process is quick and complies with the law.
