Morocco’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita discussed partnership and regional issues with his Dutch counterpart Casper Veldkaml in a phone call on Wednesday, Veldkaml tweeted on X.
The two ministers touched on strengthening relations between Morocco and the Netherlands, as well as regional issues, particularly those related to the European Union, the Sahel, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East.
The Netherlands’s top diplomat acknowledged the importance the Kingdom gives to strategic partnerships, in areas from trade to migration, with its North African neighbor.
In June 2023, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte met Morocco’s Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch to strengthen economic ties, mainly cooperation in the field of green hydrogen, and to discuss important issues such as migration and security.
The Queen of the Netherlands and the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA), Maxima Zorreguieta Curreti, visited Morocco in March 2023 to promote inclusive green finance, mobile money, and Fintech.
