Police services in Fez, based on specific information provided by Morocco’s Territory Surveillance (DGST), arrested on Monday a suspected perpetrator of a premeditated homicide who allegedly tried to cover up the crime, according to security sources.
The victim’s family reported the suspicious circumstances of their relative’s disappearance to the police. An investigation revealed that the victim had been assaulted and killed, the motive behind the crime remains unknown.
Police discovered the victim’s body buried in a remote area on the outskirts of Fez with the aid of police dogs.
The remains of the body have been transferred to forensic medical services for an autopsy, awaiting a judicial investigation by the competent prosecutor’s office to clarify the details of the case.
