Some 3.81 million Moroccan families have received financial direct social aid, amounting to 2 billion MAD, representing an approval rate of 82% of applications, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, Minister of Economy and Finance said on Monday.
Speaking at a Lower House session, the minister pointed out that a total of 4.6 million requests for financial social support have been registered through the official online platform as of July 6.
“2.3 million Moroccan families have received subsidies for child protection, amounting to 1.26 billion MAD,” Fettah said, adding that “1.5 million families are receiving flat rate allowances to support their purchasing power or protect them from risks commonly associated with old age.”
Concerning rejected applications, Fettah revealed that 23,179 requests were disapproved in June. Of these, 31% were for fixed allowances, and 69% were for child protection.
The official noted that 14,600 applications were declined due to the applicants’ employment or retirement status, while another 2,000 have already been approved for support under the Family Solidarity Fund.
