The bid book for the joint Morocco-Spain-Portugal candidacy to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup commenced its international tour on Tuesday, with Morocco’s capital, Rabat marking the first stop.
The tour’s objective is to demonstrate the collective readiness of the trio before the final presentation to FIFA on July 31, 2024.
“Our bid book’s journey started this morning at Morocco’s Royal Football Federation with our ambassadors Noureddine Naybet and Ghizlane Chebbak and a Mohammed VI Football Complex tour. In the afternoon, it explored Rabat’s impressive sights,” a statement of the official social media account of the bid “YallaVamos” read.
The document provides comprehensive background information on the bid, including data on sports infrastructure, healthcare services, transportation networks, connectivity, and fiscal and administrative frameworks.
In preparation for the forthcoming World Cup 2030, Morocco has launched a comprehensive series of projects in several cities, including Rabat, Fes, Casablanca, and Tangier among others.
The projects include upgrading sports infrastructure, such as stadiums and pitches, route and road network enhancements, transportation system improvements, and expanded accommodation facilities. All of these measures are designed to ensure that the country and its cities meet the standards set out by FIFA, to guarantee the success of the world’s largest football event.
