Moroccan airports welcomed a record number of 15,104,579 million passengers during the first half of 2024, marking a 19% increase compared to the same period last year, according to a press release by the National Airports Office (ONDA).
ONDA figures showed that the majority of airports were affected by this rise, with Rabat-Sale at the top of the list with a +40% increase followed by Agadir at +34%, Marrakech at +29%, Tetouane at +23%, Tangier at +21% and Fez at +12%.
International traffic increased by +19% compared to the first half of 2023, with 13,573,388 passengers received. The climb is due to the increase in commercial traffic performances with a +20% increase of European passengers, +16% of African passengers and +15% of Middle and Far East passengers.
Domestic flights increased by 22% compared to the same period of 2024, reaching 1,531,191 passengers in H1 of 2024.
