The 15th International Sahara Women’s Cycling Challenge is scheduled to commence on July 27 and conclude on July 30 in Laayoune and Tarfaya, two cities in the Sahara region of Morocco.
The forthcoming challenge will bring together 50 cyclists representing several countries, including Spain, France, England, Palestine, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the host nation Morocco.
The competition will consist of three racing stages. The first stage will cover a distance of 100 km, starting in Akhefnir and finishing in Tarfaya.
The second stage will span 65 km, beginning in Daoura and concluding in Foum El Oued, passing through Laayoune. The final stage will cover a distance of 35 km, from Foum El Oued to Laayoune, passing through El Marssa.
The event seeks to enhance the visibility of cycling, particularly among young women in the southern provinces, while offering an opportunity for participants to familiarize themselves with local development initiatives.
The Green March Cycling Association is organizing the event under the oversight of the Royal Moroccan Cycling Federation (FRMC) to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Throne Day.
