Police services in Oujda (northeast Morocco) on Tuesday arrested seven individuals who are suspects in an international drug and psychotropic trafficking network.
In coordination with police services in Bouarfa, the authorities seized 24 packages of cannabis resin weighing 690.5 kg, along with a bladed weapon, a motorcycle, five cars, and 16 Moroccan and foreign license plates.
Identity checks revealed that one of the suspects is subject to two national arrest warrants issued by the police in Errachidia and Oujda, for his alleged involvement in similar cases.
The suspects are now remanded in custody, supervised by the prosecutor’s office, to ascertain the possible extent of this criminal activity and to identify and apprehend any potential accomplices.
