Morocco’s national olympic squad (U23), the Atlas Cubs, on Monday kicked off training in Dardilly, a suburb of Lyon in France, getting ready to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympic football tournament, which starts on July 24, according to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
The team has a comprehensive training schedule. So far they’ve had two training sessions, one an indoor morning session and another an afternoon session at the Brocardière Stadium, focusing on technical and tactical drills, the Federation pointed out in a press release.
“All team members participated in the training except for Oussama El Azouzzi, who is expected to join the team in the coming days,” the same source added.
The training sessions are designed to improve the team’s preparedness for the upcoming matches, including the friendlies scheduled before the first game.
The Atlas Cubs will compete against Argentina on July 24, Ukraine on July 27, and Iraq on July 30 in the group stage of the Olympic tournament. The matches will be held at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Saint-Étienne and the Allianz Riviera in Nice.
